Extra Courses and Educational Experiences
The Moraitis School IB is highly dedicated to developing our students’ skills in order to facilitate their university application process, from the early stages of university and course selection with their Guidance Counsellors, to the demanding preparation and application period. We want to be close to our students and offer them the best opportunities to prepare for this important phase of their school experience. For this reason, we offer a variety of supplementary courses and special events that will equip our students with the necessary skills and experience to deal with their university applications.
The small group classes are taught by experienced Moraitis School teachers at the IB or at the Main School.
On Monday 13 January 2025 at 19:00, a presentation, held at the IB, will explain the extra examinations needed for university applications in the UK and Europe as well as the supplementary courses we will be offering this year.
The Extra Courses and Educational Experiences that will run in 2025 are as follows:
Law - Mock Trial
(February 2025)
Continuing our exclusive, in Greece, collaboration with the Lawyer Portal, students who are interested to learn more about the legal system in the UK and to explore the experience of a courtroom drama, can participate in the Role Play Mock Trial in February 2025. This event enables students to actively prepare a real legal case and to argue in teams for the prosecution or the defence in a courtroom setting. The proceedings are based on an actual case and the Mock Trial event is hosted by The Lawyer Portal, with qualified barristers, in partnership with the British General Council of the Bar. In 2025, the preparation sessions and the Trial itself will be held live at the Moraitis School.
Communication Skills Development
(February – October 2025)
This course is designed to equip students with the essential communication and presentation skills needed for academic and professional success. Whether you're looking to improve how you convey ideas or how you present yourself in interviews, this course covers a broad range of vital topics:
· Communication Process - Encoding Decoding, perception
· Methods of communication, verbal non-verbal
· Effective listening - Result of poor communication
· Importance of body language and posture

LNAT & Law
(February – November 2025)
LNAT (Law National Admissions Test) is a required entrance exam test for many Law and Law related courses in the UK and abroad.
Eleven universities currently use the LNAT as part their admissions process for undergraduate law degrees. These are: · University of Bristol · Durham University · University of Glasgow · King’s College London · LSE London School of Economics and Political Science · University of Cambridge · University of Oxford · SOAS · University College London · SUSS Singapore University of Social Sciences · IE University, Spain
The course will concentrate on developing the main skills evaluated by the LNAT, verbal reasoning skills, ability to understand and interpret information, inductive and reasoning abilities, and ability to analyse information and draw conclusions.
The students will become familiar with the structure and timing of the test through past paper practice and analysis, under the guidance of a highly experienced lawyer and educator but will also critical thinking and analytical skills essential to any student wishing to study Law in the UK or elsewhere.
